Curing Boredom?

My name is Tori. It is the halfway through the summer of 2010. Here I am sitting with my MacBook at my dining room table (that is scarcely used for dining) while thinking about life in a reflective (but not philosophical) fashion and drinking strawberry tea that smells of strawberries but does not taste that way.

I love when I have the house to myself. I am always subtly pestering my parents and sister to leave to do errands or something. However, it seems that my Dad is becoming somewhat suspicious of my constant craving for alone time. I am not sure what he thinks I am doing home alone, but knowing him, he probably considers the possibilities of me either doing drugs, trafficking drugs, having sex, hosting illegal rooster fights, plotting a suicide bombing, or other extremely likely pastimes. Despite these tempting hobbies, I honestly like being home alone because I can play my music loudly, run around my house (clothed or not, my choice!) yelling and talking to myself, call up my friends and speak to them about whatever I want, and just be myself.

I feel like I am not always myself at home when my family is present. Or maybe I am “myself”, but not the same person I am around my friends. I am sure this is true for many people, young and old. Are you a different person, or in my case a more outgoing person, around friends than you are around family? I find myself wishing I could be the same person no matter who I am with. On the other hand, it is nice to come home and just be quiet and relaxed and take a break without people asking what is wrong.

Anyways, welcome to my blog. I have never done this before, and I just decided to try it out. I really do not have anything better to do when I am home alone feeling bored out of my mind. I am not even sure what I will be using this blog for. Probably something to do in situations like this, or a place to rant about whatever I feel like ranting about. I have no idea how often I will post new stuff, or even if I will continue with this. So without further ado, I present my blog.
